Renting a car at the Las Vegas Airport — also called the McCarran International Airport—is truly the best way to explore the national treasures that lie beyond the casinos on the Strip. Las Vegas is directly surrounded by numerous impressive outdoor areas, including Red Rock Canyon National Park and the Valley of Fire State Park, all within a one-hour drive from the airport. One of the hottest places in the world during Nevada’s long summer, Death Valley is also located just over two hours northwest of the Las Vegas Airport via rental car. But of course, most visitors to Las Vegas want to go to the Grand Canyon! Find out more about driving to the Grand Canyon below. First, here is a brief guide of finding the cheapest car rental at LAS.

Car rental at the McCarran International Airport typically ranges between $14 and $30 a day, depending on the season in which you rent your car. There are over 15 car rental companies at or near the Las Vegas Airport.
All Las Vegas Airport car rental companies are located three miles south of the airport at the McCarren Rent-a-Car Center at 7135 Gilepsie Street.
Shuttles bring passengers from the airport to the Rent-a-Car Center continuously, 24/7. In order to take the shuttle from Terminal 1, follow the signs to Baggage Claim and then wait for the Rental Car Shuttle outside doors 10 and 11. If you are arriving at Terminal 3, follow the signs to Baggage Claim, and then wait for the Rental Car Shuttle outside the West doors 51-54 or the East doors 55-58.
The price of rental cars increases during busy tourist seasons in and around Las Vegas. While the Christmas season is a particularly expensive time to rent a car, you can still typically find rental cars for under $25 during the busiest summer months. Off-season cars typically start at $14 a day.
Nü and Advantage are typically the rental car companies that offer the cheapest car hire at the Las Vegas Airport, particularly when discounted by EconomyBookings.com. Keep an eye out for discounts of around 17%!
Once you arrive on Gillespie Street, keep an eye out for the sign “Car Return Garage.” Once you enter the Car Return Garage, follow the signs to your specific rental car company.
Remember that returning a car can sometimes take over 30 minutes! Once you return your rental car, you can find the shuttles that return to the airport by exiting through the lobby’s main entrance. Be sure to board the shuttle that is returning to your specific terminal. Shuttles arrive every 5 minutes, and the trip to the airport takes 7 minutes in normal traffic conditions. You can also catch a taxi at this location, if you are not headed directly to the airport after returning your rental car.
The South and North Rims of the Grand Canyon are part of the Grand Canyon National Park. Entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park costs $30 a vehicle for 7 days.
The South Rim of the Grand Canyon is located 273 miles west of the Las Vegas Airport, about a 4.5-hour drive along well-maintained paved roads. Parking can become a challenge at the South Rim during the busiest summer months.
The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is located 274 miles west of the airport, along Interstate highway 15 and then a series of winding paved roads. The North Rim is only open May 15 through October 15 due to heavy snowfall.
The West Rim of the Grand Canyon and its famous Skywalk is just 120 miles west of the Las Vegas Airport. It is located in the Hualapai Indian Reservation and is not a part of the Grand Canyon National Park. Entrance costs around $50 per person, with additional costs to enter the Skywalk. The last part of the journey is along an unpaved gravel road, so be sure to check with your rental car company before disembarking!

It s a busy airport so therewith be lines which is normal. The agent I was working at the counter was very nice and explained that they don t have the exact make and model but he did give me an equivalent model. Finding car was super easy for me. BUT we did see a renter in front of us as we were leaving the garage who didn t check the license plate and had to go back and get the correct vehicle. So my advice would be give yourself time to find the right vehicle and double check to make sure license plate and space number match and they are bothe on the printout you receive. Overall the best rental car experience yet! Thank you.
