Just as promised, when we arrived at Liberia Airport, there was a gentleman waiting for us with a Mex sign, ready to shuttle us to the car rental. The drive from the airport is 10 minutes. It took about 30 minutes to review the rental agreement. Be sure to take photos and videos of the car before you drive off. The car was an SUV, 4-wheel drive Suzuki Vantiri that served us well over our week’s stay. We used half a tank after driving around the northeast coast of Costa Rica and up some pretty steep mountain roads. But, lo and behold, we filled the tank back up, they checked to make sure it was full and there was no visible damage to the car, and within 10 minutes, they drove us to the airport. All in all, we had a great experience with their service.

Ordered Suzuki Jimney like the picture on this email because I am used to driving a stick shift car. Was downgraded to Hyundai Tucson which is a great highway car but too big and awkward in the mountain roads around the volcanoes. Some driveways to B&Bs were narrow steep and bendy. Village streets were narrow with cars parked blocking lanes. The car was nice and clean but too BIG! Only two of us.
