When my flight touched down in Hilo I looked for and pulled up the email that should have the reservation number on it before I walked out to my rental car. What I didn| t realize until the very last minute was that I did NOT confirm my rental prior to my trip. All I got was the email stating the quote and I hadn| t actually paid as I thought I did, (I probably didn| t have my eyeglasses on at the time of reservation). I quickly tried to put in another reservation literally 10-15 minutes before making my way to the rental car booths in Hilo. I explained my situation to the woman helping me at the counter and at the moment I explained my situation the reservation didn| t go in yet. I was prepared to pay for a twice as much rental car that I didn| t need. They woman behind the counter said, ""hold on, let me see what I can do"". I waited because I really wanted to save the $200.00 car differential. After waiting for about 5 minutes she said, ""Oh, there it is. Got your reservation."" I was so so very happy and grateful that I was able to get the more affordable car for me at the price I picked even though my original reservation didn| t go through and I made a new one just minutes before. I will definitely use this company again and again. Mahalo plenty *:)
Cars right now are too expensive, especially for local residents who need a vehicle for a short time.

It was easy to book online, pick up, and drop off. My gripe is the price. The website showed $31 and the final price was $72 but didn’t tell me why my final price was more than double the price of the car. that is my only gripe with this whole process. That is the reason for the low scores. Dealing with Dollar Rent-A-Car for the pick up and drop off went fine. The website said I was going to get a Chevy Spark, but when I went to pick it up, I got a mini Cooper
