Great location, price was what we anticipated, vehicle was in excellent condition, and ran well. Staff were friendly, knowledgable, and efficient. Shuttle was available immediately upon arrival at the airport, and when dropping off at car rental agency. Pick up and drop off were quick and easy!
Just as promised, when we arrived at Liberia Airport, there was a gentleman waiting for us with a Mex sign, ready to shuttle us to the car rental. The drive from the airport is 10 minutes. It took about 30 minutes to review the rental agreement. Be sure to take photos and videos of the car before you drive off. The car was an SUV, 4-wheel drive Suzuki Vantiri that served us well over our week’s stay. We used half a tank after driving around the northeast coast of Costa Rica and up some pretty steep mountain roads. But, lo and behold, we filled the tank back up, they checked to make sure it was full and there was no visible damage to the car, and within 10 minutes, they drove us to the airport. All in all, we had a great experience with their service.

This staff is outstanding. So helpful, so fast, so efficient, so reasonable in terms of insisting on changing the horrible SUV (some Chevrolet piece of crap SUV; I| m sure they had nothing else available). When we asked for some windshield wiper fluid, new wiper blades (the SUV was garbage. Died in the mountains between San Jose and Limon), dash monitor didn| t work, radio was awful. It was only a year old and it seemed as if it was 20 years old, having not had any maintenance. I listed everything wrong with it, and they practically insisted that they swap the SUV for what we reserved in the first place: a Hyundai Tucson. The middle week of our 3 week rental we were in Limon province, and didn| t think they could swap the vehicle out in that Province. So we decided we| d just keep it that last week, but we needed functioning wipers (no fluid, wiper blades not meeting the windshield) that the piece of trash Chevrolet didn| t have. Like I said, they almost insisted, said the exchange would be really fast. It took what they said, less than five minutes. Felt like a Mercedes compared to the garbage we were given to begin with. Really improved the trip having a real SUV for the last 6 nights, roughly.
Overall, no issues with Booking.com. except for the bumper-to-bumper insurance I purchased with you.

The building was not labeled ""Street"" rental it anything like that, that I could see. However everyone there was extremely friendly and helpful!
You| re required to take the mandatory liability insurance from all car rental agencies in Costa Rica which is about $24 USD per day. Ensure you contact you credit card company and bring your letter with proof of insurance, otherwise you| ll be required to take their car insurance which is quite pricey.
Booked with Avis Liberia airport. Unbelievable service… the shuttle picked us up within minutes of arriving. 10 mins to sign the documents, then out with our rental. Car was beautiful and brand new. Same process on the way back. Highly recommend Avis Liberia if you are renting a car
