Economy Car Rental in Lyon

Pickup was easy. Price was best I could find. The car had some previous damage and was quite ugly, but did an excellent job navigating all through France from Lyon to Nice. No issues and great technology package. The best part was how easy it was to drop off the car at the Nice Airport. We arrived 3 hours early not knowing how long it would take, and ended up taking about 2 minutes total. Ahtom helped us quickly and was extremely pleasant.

The car rental company was excellent. We found the information from Economy Bookings inaccurate and badly timed. We did not know we needed international licences until 3 days before pick-up, which included a weekend, when the ‘voucher’ arrived. This also told us they should be a least a year old and asked us to take two printed copies of the voucher information itself. We went to enormous lengths to get printing done and to arrange for ‘official translations’ into French of our licences, done over the weekend in NZ and emailed to us, as a substitute. Neither the printed vouchers nor the translation documents were even looked at. We had not even booked our trip a year in advance, so international licences over a year old would have been impossible . Given the unnecessary panic, effort and financial cost all this involved, we would not use Economy Bookings again. The car itself from Thrifty was an upgrade because we wanted a navigation system, brand new and the staff were extremely professional and helpful.
