The registration and collection process at Chania airport was quick and pleasant. The car was exactly the car I ordered and it goes without saying, I got what I ordered. The car was in excellent condition, new (a little more than 5,000 km!!!) kept and clean, without the smell of cigarettes (!) In my opinion, the rental company should add a section in the selection of the vehicle, a vehicle for smokers and a vehicle for non-smokers. The delivery at the field was excellent, the location contributed to the experience because Sixt| s agency is right across the road from the terminal and you don| t have to wait for an hour or worry about a taxi. Personally, I prefer the big and well-known companies because of their layout and their ability to provide solutions even though they are usually more bureaucratic than the small and unknown companies.
Everything went smooth. The staff was exceedingly nice - only Cretan people can be like this with 2 young children screaming and making noise whilst they were working. But instead of being upset they joked with my children and offered them toys. I was SO impressed. Recommended to everyone

Staff were very helpful despite the late arrival after hours. Pick up was relatively quick and we got a car that was almost new.
Besides the insurance wich I have to pay twice. Because the website EconomyBookings didn| t inform me, everything else was good. Ps: extra £170 for insurance
It was an older car but perfectly suitable and the guy at checkout very helpful regarding extending hire times for a reasonable charge. I picked a quiet time to collect the vehicle and it was a relatively stress free experience.

Great rental company and very helpful staff. Please note that when renting cars in Greece they always ask for your credit card to lock an amount in case of damage even if you have third party insurance (and they don’t accept AMEX or Revolut here). Alternatively, you can pay for their insurance and put down a cash deposit which is what we did (our deposit was €350).
The staff was very accommodating, friendly and helpful to make sure you’re taken care of efficiently.

Not sure whether to mark positive or negative. The person who handed the car over was helpful and the car was clean and great condition. However, when we arrived back to drop the car off there was no one there. We had a mobile phone number and we left many messages but no reply...what would have happened if we had an emergency? We waited 1 hour and then had to leave the keys hidden in a toilet. We finally had a phone call when we arrived back in Manchester - 6 hours after we dropped the car off!!! The explanation was that they had an emergency but why the long delay? Again, what if we had had an accident and we were stuck somewhere! Also, the company has a 800 Euro deposit and what if they now decide there is a scratch on the car and i cannot contest it as i am back in the UK? Again, great initial experience, good price, great car but very worrying final day. I would appreciate an reply to this.
